A Working Man gets its first trailer, revealing more about the upcoming Jason Statham action thriller. Directed by David Ayer, the new movie marks another collaboration between Ayer and Statham after The Beekeeper, which was a surprise hit at the beginning of 2024. A Working Man stars Statham as Levon Cade, a former black ops soldier who has given up his violent ways for a life as a construction worker. When his boss' daughter is kidnapped, however, he sets out to rescue her, uncovering corruption at every turn.
Amazon MGM Studios now shares the first trailer for A Working Man, teasing another action-packed Statham adventure. The trailer provides a better look at the movie's impressive supporting cast, which includes Michael Peña as Levon's boss and David Harbour as Gunny, Levon's blind former special forces companion. As is to be expected with a Statham movie, the trailer also highlights that there will be plenty of action, including hand-to-hand combat and a fair number of shootouts. Check out the trailer below:
Habour will be best known to many audiences for his role in the Stranger Things cast as Jim Hopper, in addition to his role as Red Guardian in the MCU.
What The A Working Man Trailer Means For The Movie
Will It Repeat The Beekeeper's Success?

On the surface, A Working Man doesn't look all that different from many of Statham's other action movies, and that might be a good thing. The film has plenty in common with The Beekeeper, which isn't surprising given that they both hail from the same director, and that film was a hit. The Beekeeper currently enjoys a 71% critics score on Rotten Tomatoes and a 92% audience score, and it also grossed $152 million worldwide at the box office.

Our Take On A Working Man's Trailer
Statham Continues To Entertain

With The Beekeeper 2 not yet confirmed, A Working Man looks like the perfect way to tide audiences over with more Statham action. Though Statham has always been physically gifted as an actor when it comes to fight choreography, Ayer, especially, seems to really be able to take advantage of this, and his gritty style benefits a Statham action vehicle.
It's worth keeping in mind, however, that many Statham action movies don't end up faring well with critics. The Beekeeper was a bit of an exception, but it's entirely possible that A Working Man won't repeat this success, even if it ends up being a box office win. That, though, might not matter, as it's clear that Statham's charisma and fight prowess is often enough for audiences. The trailer for A Working Man confirms that there will be plenty of that on display.
