A memorial service in celebration of Ray's life will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday in the Sanctuary of Central United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Dr. Robert M. Blackburn Jr.

A native of Williams Port, she was 7 a daughter of the tr late Harry Florence Fisher Richards, and also preceded in death by a son, Maurice Andrew "Muncy" Meade and a grandson, Mark Anthony Meade.

Helen was the Director of Nursing at Brookside Rehabilitation and Care Center, Director of Nurses for Nurse One, Inc. and Nursing Consultant at Mountain Manor Rest Home and a member of First Baptist Church. is survived by her lifelong friend, Jackie Wemple; two daughters, Dawn. Michelle Brown of Charlotte, Andrea Lynne McMinn and husband, Manuel, of Hendersonville; three sons, Michael Scott Meade 5 and wife, Kimberly, of Waynesville, Eric Steven 2 Meade and wife, Dorene, of Etowah, Gregory Richards Meade and friend, Cindy Cysewski, of Asheville; seven grandchildren, Leslie Michelle Meade, Steven Douglas Meade, Scott Meade, Jacob Meade, Sean Meade, Adam McMinn and Alexandrea McMinn. He The funeral service will be held at 12 noon on Friday from the First Baptist Church.

The Rev. Richard Muri will officiate. The family will receive friends from 10 until noon on Friday prior to the services at the church. Burial will follow a luncheon cat Sky View Memorial Park in Asheville. Yancey Funeral Service is serving the Richards family.

THOMAS ASHEVILLE Mrs. Robertha W. Thomas, born Aug. 10, 1930 in Chicago, Ill. departed this life Saturday, July 1, 2006.

She was the daughter of the late Bertha Mae Peete and Dr. Robert Ware. Mrs. Thomas resided in Chicago for much of her life before moving to Asheville in 1974. She was married to the late Houston C.

"Buck" Thomas who was laid to rest Feb. 22, 2006. Left to cherish her memory ren Sawyer, 81, died Saturday, July 1, 2006, at The Oaks at Sweeten Creek, after a brief illness. Born in the Hooper's Creek area to the late Charlie and Pauline Garren, she was married to the late Thomas Sawyer, of Miami, Florida. A graduate of Cecil's Business College in Asheville, she spent her life in the pursuit of continuing education, speaking four languages; and taking numerous classes at Blue Ridge Community College.

She in the offices of Mary Webster College in Washington, D.C. and Christ School in Arden, and the Fletcher Public Library. DELMAR JOHN WATSON SWANNANOA Delmar John Watson, 86, of Swannanoa, passed away Tuesday, July 4, 2006. Given his pride in being an American and a World War Veteran, it seems fitting that he should enter into eternal rest on Independence in Avery Co. and A Day. He was born a life long citizen in Buncombe County. He was the son of the late Royal Lewis and Ada Greer Watson and brother of the late William Watson.

Mr. Watson was an electrician most of his career and frequently recalled the many houses and businesses he wired throughout the Valley. He was preceded in death by his wife, Pearl McConnell Watson, of 48 years. He is survived by five children, Alma Watson of Swannanoa, Patsy Smith and husband, Gene, of Concord, Delmar John Watson Jr. and wife, Darla, of Concord, Ron Watson of Lansing, Richard and wife, Teresa, of Swannanoa.

He has 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Three brothers, Ernest Watson of Black. Mountain, Royal Lewis Watson Jr. of Orlando, Fla. and Robert Watson of Marion survive him.

Delmar was a charter member of Grovestone Baptist Church. He was active in the Royal Order of Moose and was a founding and life member of the Black Mountain Lodge He also was a member and served as the commander of the local Veterans of Foreign Wars Post. In addition to being active in his community, he was known as an avid gardener until his death. Military honors will be presented by the Buncombe County Veterans Council Memorial Team. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Delmar's memory to, Grovestone Baptist Church, 1568 Grovestone Road, Black Mountain, NC 28711, or to the Buncombe County Veterans of Council Memorial Team, P.
